Facts about eye donation
- No age limit for the donor
- Even people who wore spectacles can donate
- Only the cornea is removed, not the whole eye
- No visible scar or facial change after removal
- Up to 4 people can receive sight from a single cornea
- Retrieval takes only 10–15 minutes
- Cornea must be retrieved within 6 hours of death
- The retrieval team can come to the donor's location
